About Me

my story

I have been imaging, designing, and creating hand-made pens since 2006 after watching a pen makers segment in television’s “Texas Country Reporter” in 2005 and began teaching myself how with the limited resources at that time. Initially giving them away as gifts, then after retiring from the Navy in 2010, began selling them at a few carefully selected venues around Las Vegas. There I learned to love the positive reactions and feedback, realizing there are lots of “Pen People” like myself. I am always somewhat amazed and appreciative of the emotional reaction of many people as they view and decide to purchase my work.

I really feel a quality pen is a personal thing, every time you write, you see it, feel it, and it becomes an expression of yourself. I like to describe the pens I make as “Functional Art with a dash of instant gratification”. Still love the look on people’s faces as/when they understand that my pens are actual “hand-made” by myself in my workshop.

I have a well-developed sense of what pen barrel material perfectly marries with the right pen hardware, how to find the right figure in the material and how to assembly them to be visually striking when held and when placed on a surface. Hope you will agree, “That Life Is Too Short to Own a Boring Pen.

Handwriting and the fine writing instruments that support it have experienced a revitalization. Notwithstanding the current Professional and Classroom uses; Notetaking, Personal Journaling, American Cursive, and Calligraphy provide many avenues to engage in the art of Penmanship. Official Signatures, Handwritten notes and cards are still the norm even in this digital age.
